On speaking at the Faith Mission
Yesterday evening I had the distinct privilege of giving a small talk on the piety of the Puritan letter-writer Brilliana Harley (1598-1643) and its modern application to missionaries and their spouses as well as board members of the Faith Mission in Ontario and Quebec. What an honour to speak to these dear folk.
On the Faith Mission and its focus on soul-winning see here: https://faithmissioncanada.org/ . This ministry has a warm place in my heart as it was a representative of the Faith Mission who was instrumental in my coming to saving faith in February of 1974.
The meeting was held in their Ontario HQ in Campbellville in what used to be Bezek back in the 1970s and 1980s, a charismatic centre led by Bernie Warren, a United church minister, and Garth Hunt, an Anglican minister who was the nephew of Dr Les Hunt, the principal of Wycliffe College, where I attended from 1974-1982.
My wife and I used to travel out to Bezek many Friday nights for their three- and four-worship sessions. I thank God for that ministry also as it gave me a long-lasting interest in the work of the Holy Spirit, spirituality, and revival.
