Hermann Sasse (1895‒1976) was a confessional Lutheran theologian who studied under Adolf von Harnack. During the difficult days of the 1930s, he was publicly critical of Adolf Hitler and penned the Bethel Confession (1933) with Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
