God does not promise that wherever there is prayer for revival there will automatically be revival. Revival is ever a sovereign work of God and cannot be engineered by human planning. Yet, on the other hand, it can be said, on the basis of both Scripture and church history, that where there is no prayer, there is no revival. Revival is always given, it seems, in answer to the fervent and urgent prayers of God’s people.
